Q 2. How does early bid submission help suppliers in Reverse Auctions?

Ans. Early bid submission allows suppliers to:

  • Prepare pricing in advance

  • Avoid last-minute network problems

  • Reduce pressure during the live auction

  • Lower the risk of missed or incorrect bids

Q 3. How do pre-bids benefit buyers during a Reverse Auction?

Ans. Buyers gain:

  • Immediate visibility into initial price levels.

  • A better understanding of baseline costs.

  • More competitive bidding since suppliers start with committed base prices.

  • A faster and more transparent sourcing process.

Q 4. How does the Pre-Bidding workflow operate inside MESH Auctions?

Ans. When a Reverse Auction is created, suppliers will see an option to submit pricing before the auction starts. Once the auction begins,

  • Pre-bids appear automatically.

  • Suppliers can continue to update or lower prices in real time.

Q 5. What is the new “Add/Upload Parts in Bids” feature in MESH Marketplace?

Ans. This upgrade lets buyers add single parts by hand or upload several parts at once using an Excel template. Suppliers get detailed part-level information to provide more accurate quotes.

Q 6. Why is part-level detail important for Marketplace bids?

Ans. Providing detailed information, such as part number, description, quantity, and UOM, allows suppliers to:

  • Understand the exact scope.

  • Provide precise cost estimates.

  • Quote based on process complexity and material needs.

Q 7. How does the bulk upload of parts improve the sourcing workflow?

Ans. Bulk upload:

  • Saves a lot of time for buyers handling multi-part RFQs.

  • Reduces manual data entry.

  • Ensures consistent data accuracy.

  • Helps suppliers quote faster and with more confidence.

Q 8. What is the new “Days to Response” metric in the My Supplier Report?

Ans. A new performance column shows how many days each supplier takes to respond to RFQs. This metric is included in Excel exports for offline tracking.

Q 9. How does tracking supplier response time improve procurement decisions?

Ans. Response time analytics help procurement teams:

  • Identify fast and slow suppliers.

  • Improve supplier comparisons.

  • Strengthen sourcing strategies based on how quickly suppliers respond.

  • Evaluate performance beyond just pricing.

Q 10. What does the “Preserve Search Across Screens” enhancement do?

Ans. Users can now connect Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to the specific APQP project they affect. This stops accidental changes in several projects that involve the same part.

Q 13. Why is linking ECNs to APQP projects critical for manufacturers?

Ans. It offers:

  • Improved traceability of engineering changes.

  • Document and process adjustments tailored to each project.

  • More precise cost, tooling, and quality changes.
